Mission
Yona's Kids was founded in honor of our precious son Yona Ryan Wige. Though he had only three short months of life due to complications from Down Syndrome the love he brought into this world will carry on for many generations to come through the mission of this organization. Yona's Kids focus is to love, serve, and protect people from conception forward. We are a volunteer driven organization. Together with our partners, we are making a difference for children in the womb through awareness about misdiagnosed miscarriages and providing encouragement and referrals services for families processing results of genetic testing, supporting children and families in the foster care system, people who are unemployed/underemployed, people recovering from loss, and those recovering from domestic violence, and we are striving to improve equity for seniors and people with disabilities. We provide education, support, resources, referral services, for both individuals and other organizations, and build community memorials for people to have a place to process grief and have remembrance of their loved ones. As well as, connect people to helpful resources for miscarriage and grief support. Every person matters. Yona changed the world in only three months. Imagine the impact you can make in your lifetime! Explore growing your family through foster parenting/mentoring

If you are a single or couple with a heart for children then this event is for you. There are thousands of children around the world in need of loving foster parents, mentors, and people who offer them their support. I know because I used to be one of them. I was a foster youth and then I became a foster parent and foster mentor. Now I spend part of my time with my organization helping support and find great foster parents and foster mentors for kids in care. Could that be you? Perhaps the right role might even be supporting in your own special way the people who do. If it's on your heart then take the time to see what the right fit is for you.

Did you know sometimes miscarriages are misdiagnosed?
I did not know until losing my son that sometimes the medical community accidentally misdiagnose unborn babies as deceased when they are actually alive. At Yonaskids.org we are working hard to protect unborn children. We are partnering with health care systems and providers to change diagnostic practices. Dream Big Little One Workshop!
In this workshop attendees will have the opportunity to explore their passions and interests for their life! Every person has a vision inside of them. I've been a Workforce Development Instructor for over a decade and have seen thousands of people obtain their goals. There's a saying dreams don't work unless you do. So let's dream big, do the work, and see those dreams come to life! All are welcome to attend! Seniors and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to have this be part of their journey!
